How to Avoid the Atomizer Catch Fire

Why does the atomizer get fire?

When you first come to use a drip atomizer, you would probably find the atomizer getting fire sometimes, even its just running in low power. What’s going on? You may ask, why does it get fire?

When it comes to fire, we have to mention the high temperature. "Fire" means that combustibles start to burn. The fuel must have a certain initial energy, reach a certain temperature and concentration, in order to produce a fast enough reaction speed and fire. The temperature of the electronic smoke coil is high, and both the oil and cotton are combustible. Once the fuel point is reached, it will burn, so the atomizer fire is actually the atomizing core burning due to the high temperature.

Atomized core ignition is divided into two cases:

1. Most cases are due to uneven heating of coils and no adjustment to uniform heating. After electrification, There is a local overheating phenomenon, coupled with ultra-low resistance, so the current of an overheated one or several heating wires is very large, and the temperature rises rapidly to the burning point of cotton and tobacco oil in a short time, causing the atomized core to fire.

The solution to the problem is to remove the cotton, wipe the oil in the atomizer, and lower the power output. After electrification, the heating state of the coil is observed.

In the process of adjustment, we should pay more attention on reducing the output power properly. For example, the coil resistance value normally corresponds to 100W, and the adjustment can be reduced to 30w or 40W. In this way, the coil will be lit for a long time, making it easy to see the uneven parts. If the coil is "second red" with high power push, it is not easy to find the abnormal part of heating.

2. The atomized core produced can be used normally for long time. After a period of use, the existing mushy taste will be produced. Turn on the atomizer and observe that there is still smoke oil on the cotton. With the increase of carbon accumulation on the surface of the coils and the deformation or pulling of the coils when the coils are heated, the heat is not even and the cotton and tobacco oil are ignited.

The other is that the coil fixing screw of the electrode column becomes loose when it is used in daily use, which will also lead to uneven heating of the coil.
When the atomized core in the figure above was just finished, the adjusted heat was very even. After 2 days using, the smoke became smaller and the taste became worse. After opening the cover, you can see that the cotton is still covered with tobacco oil. After continuous heating, it will burn red like the picture above.

Someone says, there is cotton inside coil, there are still some smoke in it, in this case dry burn itself can cause the heating of coil not even? Cotton and the residual oil from the top do cool the coil, but not as much as in the picture, so this is because the coil itself is already heating unevenly. The cause of this phenomenon is related to carbon deposition, and it is also related to the deformation of the coil after heating or the deformation of the coil caused by the over-tightening of cotton.

In this case, cotton and coil need to be replaced. If you don't have a tool, you could use the key or metal sheet to scrape along the edge of the coil horizontally. The phenomenon of uneven heating will also be improved.

If you have simple tools and cotton, you can also change the coil and remove the cotton, adjust it to heat evenly.

In the same example of the above atomizer, the atomizer core caught fire after a few seconds of electrification, and the coil on the right was clearly red. It is because the coil heating is not uniform and the heating speed is too fast that the local high temperature is caused, which leads to the burning of smoke oil and cotton, so that the atomizing core burns.

The majority of the coils are reddened in use because the cotton inside has been burnt out, and the lack of the cooling of smoke oil when the coils are energized is the same as that of the dry coils, causing the coil temperature to rise rapidly.

what do we do when the core getting fire? Is there any danger?

The fire of atomized core usually occurs when the open cover burns empty. At this time, if there is fire, do not panic. Firstly, release the power button then blow the fire extinguishing seedling vigorously.

In daily use, do not worry about the fire of atomizer, because this not often happen, the high temperature before the combustion of atomizer will have strong stimulation and cannot be inhaled at all. Therefore, if coughing after inhalation occurs and you feel mushy, please check out the working state of atomizer core is normal and avoid the ignition of atomizer core.

The atomized core will form an open flame, so do not use vape in some places with "no fireworks" warning signs, such as gas stations and inflammable goods warehouses, to avoid accidents.

Since the smoke produced before the atomizing core burns is too mushy and highly irritating to be inhaled, there is no need to worry that the atomizer will catch fire when it is used normally. Even if the atomizing core burns, it will not be dangerous if it is properly disposed, so please do not worry about it too much.

To avoid the fire of atomizing core, first of all, it is necessary to pay attention to the output power, make sure its not too high.

How to determine the appropriate output power? Usually, you can refer to the output voltage of the host machine. Between 3.2-4.5V, the output voltage is usually adopted. If the output voltage is much more than 4.5v, it is necessary to observe whether there is any abnormal phenomenon in the atomizer, whether the smoke is too hot and accompanied by paste. If there is any above phenomenon, please reduce the power use.

Secondly, when using the RBA atomizer to make the coil, it is necessary to adjust the heating state of the heating wire, and often check the coil and cotton when using. If the smoke becomes hot the taste would get poor, it is necessary to check the atomized core in detail to find out the problem and avoid deterioration.

If the finished product atomizer is used, it should be noted that the cotton should be fully soaked before using the new atomizing core, and it should not be used immediately after installing the atomizing core and adding the smoke oil, which may burn the atomizing core. Please refer to the recommended power marked on the atomizing core or refer to the real-time output voltage of the host.

At last but not least, the phenomenon of atomized core burning is not very common, there is no need to worry too much. Some green hands want experience strong smoke but inadvertently make much more mistakes, a few days ago I saw a one in the q&a area asked the problem of atomizer fire, so in the several reasons for the problems just generally summarized. Hope it can help more green hands.
Just enjoy the pleasure of vape safely.
